Although introduced to performing at a very early age Kate has only recently started pursuing acting as a profession. Growing up she enjoyed performing in the yearly Pantomime with her mother and attended Youth Theatre Groups from the age of about ten. Kate considers herself a bit of a late developer because although she enjoyed drama at school she did not think of it as a career choice when she left. Instead she pursued other interests and went to University to study Zoology. Surprisingly it was during University that she realised the Arts were her main love, boosted by the fact that during an internship in Florida she landed the role of Sally Brown in You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown. Her first leading role with an all American cast this was a huge confidence boost and gave her an opportunity to grow as a performer. As soon as University was over she threw herself back into performing in local musical theatre in Cambridge including a number of leading roles. In 2003 Kate set up Actors at Work Productions as a banner for her various creative projects linked mostly to Stage and Film work. Early work was mainly filming theatre shows and creating high quality DVDs of the productions, along with behind the scenes extras. Kate enjoys filmmaking and directed her first film in 2005. She has worked on a number of films, experiencing many different jobs behind the camera and this knowledge helps her when working in front of the camera too. Kate still feels she has a long way to go and plenty more to learn but that's what this industry is all about.
